Valuation
Valuation issues arise in two contexts:
- the valuation of land for land taxation and local government rating purposes
- the amount of compensation to be paid for the compulsory acquisition of land, but also the means by which compulsory acquisition might be opposed
GANTT LEGAL has successfully appeared for clients in the Land Court and Land Appeal Court against the State of Queensland concerning complex valuation legal issues.
GANTT LEGAL has created strategies for clients to resist government attempts at compulsory acquisition of land. Many have been successful and have dissuaded government from making further attempts.
GANTT LEGAL has provided complex valuation law advice in respect of major development sites, including for the landowner of a large holding designated for a regional town centre.
