History

GANTT LEGAL is a Queensland boutique law firm providing services in respect of projects, planning, valuation, environment and heritage issues for developers and land owners.

GANTT LEGAL started its life as IPA LAW PLANNING LAWYERS in 2004.

The firm name 'IPA' was an acronym for the Integrated Planning Act 1997 (Qld).

The firm's Director is Cliff Wirz.

Within its first year of practice, the firm was acting for more developers in litigation in the Planning and Environment Court than any other law firm, with a market share of 14%.

Since its inception the firm has adopted fixed fee billing practices, and has maintained a rule of not accepting instructions from government.

Cliff has over 28 years experience practising exclusively in planning and environment law, and has acted in over 500 appeals in the Planning and Environment Court.

Cliff's depth of experience, in addition to his dual qualifications in law and urban planning, has enabled him to provide exceptional advice and support to their clients.

When the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 (Qld) superseded the Integrated Planning Act 1997 (Qld), the firm's name became obsolete.

A new name was required.

The firm has always practised in areas of law outside of town planning under the Integrated Planning Act 1997, including due diligence, environmental protection, heritage, contaminated land, land valuation, acquisition of land, nature conservation, and State development projects.

Common to all is the notion of a 'project'.  This is the inspiration for the firm's new name, which took effect in 2013.
